Traffic Delays Expected All Week Amid PennDOT Repairs on Bypass

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — PennDOT has announced that pipe repair work on the 30 Bypass in Downingtown will continue through March 24, requiring 24/7 left lane closures in both directions near the Route 113 interchange. The closures are expected to cause delays, and motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area. PennDOT encourages drivers to check the state’s 511PA system for real-time traffic updates, road conditions, and potential changes to the construction schedule.

Schuylkill Highlands Mini-Grants Offer Up to $15,000 for Community Projects

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Schuylkill Highlands Mini-Grant Program is accepting applications for its 2025 funding cycle, offering grants ranging from $1,000 to $15,000 for projects that support conservation, outdoor recreation, and sustainable tourism. The initiative, administered by Natural Lands and funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, focuses on projects that enhance public engagement with nature, preserve local ecosystems, and promote awareness of the Schuylkill Highlands Conservation Landscape.

Eligible applicants include municipalities, nonprofits, and watershed organizations. Proposed projects should align with the program’s goals, such as trail development, habitat restoration, interpretive signage, and recreational infrastructure improvements. Applications must be submitted online by April 17, 2025, with eligibility requirements and project guidelines available on the Schuylkill Highlands website.

Veterans Invited to Breakfast and Resource Fair in Exton

EXTON, PA — Chester County veterans are encouraged to attend the 2025 Veterans Breakfast, a free event hosted by the Chester County Recorder of Deeds on Friday, March 28, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Boy Scouts of America facility in Exton.

The breakfast offers an opportunity for veterans to gather, enjoy a hot meal, and receive updates on veterans' affairs from elected officials. More than a dozen vendors will be present to provide information on services, benefits, and resources available to local veterans. Veterans are encouraged to RSVP in advance by emailing [email protected] or calling 610-344-4363 to secure their spot.

Police Investigate Arson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery

UWCHLAN TWP — Uwchlan Township police are investigating an arson incident that took place on March 11, 2025, in the cemetery at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on South Village Avenue. Authorities are seeking information about a young male who was seen in the area around the time of the fire.

The individual, described as a white male juvenile or young adult, was reportedly wearing black pants and a black t-shirt with a white design or decal. Investigators believe he may be familiar with the location and could be a resident or frequent visitor to the area.
