Traffic Delays Expected Monday as rt 30 Undergoes Sinkhole Repairs

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Drivers on rt 30 should prepare for disruptions on Monday, March 17, as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation conducts sinkhole repairs on the Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass. A left lane closure will be in place in both directions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between the rt 322 East (Horseshoe Pike) ramp and the Business 30 West (Lancaster Avenue) ramp.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time due to anticipated delays. The repairs are subject to change depending on weather conditions.
West Whiteland Township Names Officer of the Year, Awards Honors
WEST WHITELAND TWP — At the West Whiteland Township Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, police officers were recognized for their outstanding service throughout 2024. Sergeant Robert Malarick was awarded Officer of the Year, and Officer Courtenay Delaney received the Chief’s Award for Excellence.
Several officers were honored for lifesaving actions, including Sergeant Matthew Nissen, Officer Edward Dvorak, Officer Matthew Muscari, and Officer Kyle O’Brien. Sergeant Nissen and Detective Sergeant Jeffrey McCloskey were also commended for their meritorious service.

CCIU Names Dr. Jennifer Murray as Assistant Executive Director

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has named Dr. Jennifer Murray as its new assistant executive director. A veteran educator with over 20 years of experience, Murray currently serves as superintendent of the Reading School District, where she has led major initiatives in early college programs, career education, and virtual learning. She will officially assume her new role on June 16.
Sensory FIT Hosts First Annual Mommapalooza for Moms and Babies

EXTON, PA — New and expecting parents will have the opportunity to connect with a wide range of health and wellness professionals at Sensory FIT’s 1st Annual Mommapalooza, a free event celebrating motherhood and baby care. The event, held at Exton Square Mall, will feature vendors specializing in prenatal and postnatal services, including chiropractic care, pelvic floor therapy, pediatric health, lactation support, and newborn photography.
Additional resources will be available from midwives, doulas, feeding specialists, and wellness professionals, offering insights and support for parents navigating pregnancy, childbirth, and early childhood care. The event aims to create a welcoming space for families to explore essential services while fostering connections within the parenting community. Register here
