Chester County Mansion Destroyed in Early Morning Blaze
WEST SADSBURY TWP — Firefighters from multiple counties rushed to a mansion in West Sadsbury Township early Thursday morning after a fast-moving fire tore through the property. The blaze, which started around 5 a.m. on Church Road, engulfed the home in thick smoke and flames, leaving little more than a charred shell.
Photos from the scene show firefighters battling the fire as ladders stretched toward broken windows and blackened debris littered the area. Despite the intensity of the flames, no injuries were reported. Authorities have not yet confirmed how many people were displaced, but the American Red Cross is assisting those affected.
The cause of the fire remains unknown as investigators work to determine what sparked the destruction.
West Chester Man Steals Porsche, Leads Police on High-Speed Chase
WEST CHESTER, PA — A car theft in Newtown Square turned into a police pursuit and manhunt Wednesday, ending in the arrest of a West Chester man who now faces multiple charges.
Authorities say Anthony Boffa, 42, took a Porsche from a dealership on West Chester Pike, dragging an employee several feet as he fled. Police pursued him through Ridley Creek State Park and Edgmont Township until the vehicle became disabled in a field. The suspect then ran into a wooded area, sparking an extensive search involving drones, canine units, and a state police helicopter.
During the search, nearby White Horse Village went into lockdown as a precaution. After nearly two hours, police located Boffa attempting to enter a home in the Ventry housing development. A resident called 911, leading to his arrest.
Boffa was arraigned and remains in custody at George W. Hill Correctional Facility after failing to post bail. He is set to appear in court on March 6.
