Skelp Level Road Bridge Work Set to Disrupt Water Service in Downingtown on March 3rd

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — East Caln Township, in collaboration with the Downingtown Municipal Water Authority, is undertaking a project to replace the Skelp Level Road Bridge and reposition a key water main serving the area. Beginning March 3, a contractor will install a temporary water main to ensure continued service while the bridge is removed. The work, scheduled from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., may lead to brief water outages or lower pressure for local residents.

West Whiteland Unveils $14.6 Million Public Works Facility

WEST WHITELAND TWP — On Monday, West Whiteland Township unveiled a new 39,000-square-foot public works facility, completed within a year for $14.6 million. The project consolidates three outdated buildings into a single, modern space with indoor storage for vehicles and equipment, offices, and meeting areas. Previously stored outdoors, the township’s equipment will now be protected, extending its lifespan and cutting repair costs. A forthcoming solar array will supply power to the facility and nearby township offices, emphasizing sustainability. Funded by property sales, bonds, and $1.3 million in state grants, the facility is expected to boost efficiency and support the township’s growth.

West Pikeland to Close Yellow Springs Road for Tree Removal March 5th

WEST PIKELAND TWP — On March 5, West Pikeland Township will shut down Yellow Springs Road between Elbow Lane and Lower Pine Creek Road from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to facilitate tree removal by Asplundh, working alongside PECO. The effort targets trees that pose hazards to passing vehicles and the electrical grid, where falling limbs could interrupt service or damage infrastructure.
