Researchers Investigate Well Water Safety, Offering Families Free Filtration System

CALN TWP — Researchers at Temple University are recruiting families for a study on the safety of drinking water from private wells. The NIH-funded research focuses on preventing waterborne illnesses, particularly among young children. Families with a child aged three or younger who live in select counties in Pennsylvania or New Jersey can participate from home and will receive a free whole-home UV water treatment system, including installation, valued at $1,000. With private wells lacking the same regulations as public water supplies, the study aims to address potential health risks and improve water quality for families who rely on them.
