Traffic Restored on Route 30 After Emergency Roadwork

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Traffic on Route 30 Bypass has returned to normal after crews swiftly repaired a sinkhole that had caused major congestion near Route 113. The hole, which opened Sunday evening, forced lane closures and led to heavy delays during Monday’s commute. Repair crews worked throughout the day, successfully restoring the roadway ahead of schedule. PennDOT officials will continue investigating the cause of the sinkhole while monitoring the area for further concerns.
Temporary Closure Planned for Pennsylvania Avenue

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown drivers should prepare for a temporary road closure on Tuesday, February 25, as Pennsylvania Avenue near Stuart Avenue will be shut down for utility work. The closure, scheduled from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., is necessary for Danella Construction to complete a project on behalf of PECO.
Traffic in the area may be affected, and motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes. While the work is expected to be completed within the designated timeframe, slight delays could extend the closure.
Caln Township Receives $450K for Streetlights, Bike Lane on Lincoln Highway

CALN TWP — Caln Township has secured $450,000 in state funding to enhance safety along Lincoln Highway with new streetlights and a bike lane. The project, funded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, will install 90 streetlights across two sections of the highway and introduce a dedicated bicycle lane. These upgrades aim to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit users in the growing community.
Saint Agnes Church Restores Home-Cooked Meal Program After Health Dispute
WEST CHESTER, PA — Saint Agnes Church in West Chester has reinstated its long-running home-cooked meal program after reaching an agreement with the Chester County Health Department. The program, paused last August due to food safety concerns, will now operate under a new structure, with members of the Dorothy Day Society receiving homemade meals while others continue to receive food from commercial sources. The church’s meal service, which provides for hundreds of residents in need, is a key part of its mission to serve the community.
