Legal Fight Looms as West Whiteland Caps Development at Exton Square
EXTON, PA — West Whiteland Township supervisors voted unanimously to limit the density of residential development at the site of the soon-to-be-demolished Exton Square Mall, capping housing at six units per acre and restricting new builds to apartments only. The decision, driven by concerns over traffic and infrastructure, casts uncertainty over a developer’s plan to build more than 600 residential units alongside retail and office spaces. While the move was widely supported by residents, it also drew legal threats from the developer, who warned that the restrictions could make the project unviable.
Join the Effort: West Bradford to Remove Invasive Plants at Broad Run Park

WEST BRADFORD TWP — West Bradford Township is seeking volunteers for an invasive vegetation removal event at Broad Run Park on March 15. The effort, led by the township’s Land Preservation & Sustainability Committee, aims to restore native plant life and maintain the park’s ecological balance. Volunteers should bring gloves, gardening tools, and appropriate work attire.
Wallace Township Event Explores the Power of Native Plants in Local Habitats

WALLACE TWP — Wallace Township is set to host "What’s the Rush?", an educational event on February 18 that will explore the role of native plants in sustaining local ecosystems. The event, presented by the township’s Environmental Advisory Council, will be held at 7 p.m. at the Wallace Township Building in Glenmoore.
The discussion will focus on how native plants provide essential support for pollinators, birds, and other wildlife, helping to restore balance in increasingly fragmented habitats. The event aligns with the mission of Homegrown National Park, a nationwide initiative co-founded by ecologist Doug Tallamy, which encourages homeowners to replace non-native plant species with those that better serve local food chains.
For those unable to attend in person, the "What’s the Rush?" video will be available on the Homegrown National Park website, offering residents another opportunity to learn how simple changes in landscaping can lead to significant environmental benefits.
Downingtown Offers Full-Time Parking Enforcement Position

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Downingtown Borough is seeking a parking enforcement officer to oversee parking compliance throughout the community. The role includes patrolling borough streets and lots, issuing tickets for violations, responding to public inquiries, and maintaining routine logs. The officer will also assist with traffic direction during special events and perform administrative duties as needed.
The full-time position offers a starting hourly wage of $22.57, along with health and dental insurance. Applicants must pass a background check before being considered for the role. Those interested in applying should submit a cover letter and resume via email and complete the employment application available on the borough’s website.
This week’s spotlight episode features The Investor Agents with Steven Seymour and local real estate investor, Kevin Busza. They talk about Kevin’s journey into real estate at a young age and at one point accumulating 50 properties by his early 30’s.
