Coatesville School Board Appoints New Member After Months-Long Vacancy

COATESVILLE, PA — After months without a representative for Region 2, the Coatesville Area School Board appointed Elizabeth Brindle to fill the vacancy left by Jennifer Shaut’s resignation last July. Brindle, a longtime community member and active participant in district committees, was the only applicant. She expressed a commitment to transparency, accountability, and vision, noting her experience as a district office director and parent of Coatesville students.

Exploring Caln’s Mills: A Look at the Past with the Old Caln Historical Society

CALN TWP — The Old Caln Historical Society invites history enthusiasts and local residents to a free event exploring the historic mills that once played a vital role in the region’s development. The discussion will highlight the significance of these mills in shaping the local economy and landscape.

The event will take place at the Thorndale Fire Company’s training room and is open to both members and non-members. After the presentation, attendees are welcome to join the society’s membership meeting, where upcoming preservation projects and community initiatives will be discussed.

Commissioners Name Matthew Edmond as Planning Commission Executive Director

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County has appointed Matthew Edmond as the new Executive Director of the Planning Commission, effective February 18. With more than 20 years of experience in public planning, Edmond previously led transportation and long-range planning efforts in Montgomery County. He will oversee Landscapes3, Chester County’s comprehensive plan, focusing on smart growth, open space preservation, and expanding public transit and pedestrian networks.

West Chester Restaurant Week Returns with Special Prix Fixe Menus

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester’s annual Restaurant Week kicks off on February 23, bringing a weeklong celebration of local dining to the borough. Participating restaurants will offer special multi-course prix fixe menus, available for both dine-in and takeout, giving food lovers a chance to experience the town’s diverse culinary offerings at fixed prices.
