Downingtown Appoints New Police Sergeant

DOWNINGTOWN, PA — The Downingtown Police Department has promoted Officer Scott Neuhaus to sergeant following a competitive selection process. Neuhaus, a Marine Corps veteran and longtime officer, was sworn in on January 14, 2025. He brings decades of experience, including roles in training, drug enforcement, and SWAT, to his new leadership position.

Grants Available for Historic Preservation Projects in Chester County

WEST CHESTER, PA — The Pennsylvania Trails of History program, through the Keystone Grants initiative, is providing funding to support historic preservation projects across the state. Local governments and nonprofit organizations in Chester County can apply for grants to assist with restoration, rehabilitation, and interpretive planning of historic sites. With the application deadline set for March 3, interested organizations are encouraged to explore this funding opportunity to help preserve the region’s cultural and architectural history. Springton Manor Farm Hosts Wildlife Education Event

GLENMOORE, PA — Chester County’s Springton Manor Farm will host an interactive wildlife education program on Saturday, February 15, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Led by Ranger Conlow, the session will introduce attendees to Pennsylvania’s mammals and birds through the park’s educational mounts. UPPER UWCHLAN TWP — Upper Uwchlan Township is seeking a volunteer to join its Environmental Advisory Council. Residents with an interest in environmental issues, ecology, or preservation are encouraged to apply. Applications can be submitted by mail or in person at the township office.
