West Chester Burglary Spree Suspect Arrested

Suspect: Lawrence Dass

WEST CHESTER, PA — Authorities in West Chester have arrested Lawrence Dass, 27, in connection with a string of burglaries that occurred last August. Investigators used surveillance footage, fingerprint analysis, and DNA evidence to link him to at least five break-ins. In addition to burglary charges, Dass is accused of stealing a police patrol car and a body armor vest. Officials have not disclosed details about the stolen items or specific locations of the incidents. Dass is currently in custody at Chester County Prison after failing to post $50,000 bail.

Deputies Strengthen Leadership Skills Through Elite Training Program

WEST CHESTER, PA — Corporals Tony Wilson and Deborah Gibney of the Chester County Sheriff’s Office have successfully completed the Command & Leadership Academy, an advanced training program designed to prepare law enforcement officers for leadership in high-pressure situations. Developed by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police in partnership with West Point, the academy focuses on organizational behavior, leadership psychology, decision-making, and communication.

Regarded as one of the most rigorous programs of its kind, the training underscores the Chester County Sheriff’s Office’s commitment to fostering leadership excellence within its ranks.

Public Survey Open for Chester County Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County is in the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan and is asking residents to take part in shaping the county’s approach to disaster preparedness. The plan, designed to minimize the impact of natural disasters and emergencies, undergoes periodic reviews to address evolving risks and community needs.

Residents can review the current plan online and participate in a public survey to share their insights on preparedness levels and areas needing improvement.

West Pikeland Township to See Tree Trimming as Part of PECO’s Maintenance Plan

WEST PIKELAND TWP — PECO has initiated a vegetation management program in West Pikeland Township as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain power reliability. Conducted every four years, the maintenance program involves clearing overgrown branches and removing dead trees that could damage power lines during storms.

The work, carried out by PECO’s contractor, Asplundh, will take place over the next several months. Officials stress that this proactive approach helps reduce the likelihood of power disruptions and ensures a more resilient electrical grid for residents. The service is provided at no cost to the community.
