DOWNINGTOWN, PA — Shamona Creek Elementary in the Downingtown School District hosted a heartfelt celebration to welcome home Will Howard, who recently led Ohio State to victory in the National Championship. Caln Township Police Launch Daily Check-In Program for Residents

CALN TWP — The Caln Township Police Department has unveiled the Are You O.K.? program, an innovative daily welfare check system aimed at safeguarding residents who may need additional support. This free service caters to older adults, disabled individuals, and those living alone by offering daily automated calls at a time selected by the participant.

If a call goes unanswered after multiple attempts, the system alerts the police department, which dispatches an officer to check on the individual. The program operates 365 days a year and prioritizes confidentiality. Residents can pause the service when away by notifying the police department in advance.

Questions about the program can be directed to Administrative Assistant Tracey Laws by calling 610-383-1821 weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Leader of Multi-County Gun Trafficking Ring Pleads Guilty

Scott Grondin

NORRISTOWN, PA — Scott Michael Grondin, a 43-year-old Philadelphia man, has pleaded guilty to leading a gun and drug trafficking organization that operated across Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Philadelphia counties. Grondin’s network relied on straw purchases to illegally obtain firearms, many of which had their serial numbers obliterated to make them untraceable.

Authorities report that only a few of the 16 firearms acquired by the organization have been recovered, raising concerns about public safety. Grondin’s criminal operation also included drug trafficking, with investigators seizing approximately 900 grams of methamphetamine during controlled purchases.
