Chester County Courthouse Glows Green in Eagles Tribute

WEST CHESTER, PA — Chester County is preparing to celebrate the Philadelphia Eagles’ quest for the NFC Championship by bathing its historic courthouse in green. The special lighting, planned for the weekend, aims to boost community morale and highlight local enthusiasm for the team. County officials hope that illuminating a local landmark in the Eagles’ signature color will unite residents and underscore the area’s steadfast support of Philadelphia sports. Residents are encouraged to visit the courthouse and share in the excitement as game day approaches.
Basic CERT Program Prepares Residents for Disaster Response

COATESVILLE, PA — Chester County’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is designed to help residents become better prepared for emergencies. The training runs from late March through early June and features both online modules and in-person sessions covering essential response skills. Topics include disaster preparedness, CERT organization, and fire safety, all of which are reinforced through practical demonstrations. Attendees who complete the entire program will participate in a final exercise in June that simulates a real-world emergency scenario, offering them an opportunity to practice their newly acquired skills. Upon finishing the course, participants receive an official certificate acknowledging their competency to support their families, neighbors, and community when disaster strikes. More info online
Sewer Project Closes Font Road to Through Traffic This Week
UPPER UWCHLAN TWP — Starting Monday, January 27, Font Road between Black Horse Road and Route 100 will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. due to sewer pump station construction. Although through traffic will be restricted, residents, emergency personnel, school buses, delivery vehicles, and trash collection services will still be allowed to pass. The work is expected to continue through Friday, January 31, with a potential return visit by the contractor in the spring to finish any remaining tasks. Township officials advise motorists to seek alternate routes and remain attentive to changing project timelines. Further updates will be provided if the construction schedule must be extended.
A Nighttime Adventure Under the Snow Moon in Chester County

ATGLEN, PA — On Wednesday, February 12, Wolf’s Hollow County Park will open its trails for an after-dark excursion, showcasing the winter setting under the glow of the February full moon. Commonly referred to as the Snow Moon, this lunar event illuminates the park’s features in ways that differ markedly from daytime vistas. A ranger will guide participants on a moderate two-mile loop, ensuring an engaging and accessible experience. Organizers encourage attendees to prepare for changing weather conditions and to take advantage of this unique opportunity to enjoy the park’s nocturnal landscape.
